We’re pleased to announce that firm partner Victoria Blachly has been appointed to the Allied Professionals Council at Legacy Health.
The Allied Professionals Council provides support, advice and counsel to the planned giving program for The Office of Philanthropy at Legacy Health. The foundations served include Emanuel Medical Center Foundation, Good Samaritan Foundation, Meridian Park Medical Foundation, Mount Hood Medical Center Foundation, Randall Children’s Hospital Foundation and Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation.
Legacy Allied Professionals are representative of the various geographical areas served by Legacy and include attorneys, financial planners, life insurance agents, stock brokers, real estate brokers, trust officers, accountants and tax professionals. These community leaders provide expert advice in all aspects of planned giving, particularly in the areas of annuities, trusts, deferred gifts and gifts of real property or stock.

Victoria’s practice at SYK is almost entirely focused on fiduciary litigation for individual trustees, corporate trustees, beneficiaries, and personal representatives — including trust and estate litigation, will contests, trust disputes, undue influence, capacity cases, claims of fiduciary breach, financial elder abuse cases, petitioning for court instructions, and contested guardianship and conservatorship cases.
Appointed the firm’s first female equity partner, Victoria is actively engaged with the local community. In March 2014, she was appointed to the Governor’s Commission on Senior Services (GCSS). GCSS is dedicated to enhancing and protecting the quality of life for all older Oregonians. She is also on the Board of Advisors for VoteERA.org, which is a bi-partisan effort to obtain an Oregon Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) that provides express equality and protects women against sex discrimination.
Named to the 2014 list for Oregon Super Lawyers, Victoria has served on the boards for Dress for Success, Oregon Lawyers Against Hunger and Housecall Providers. She is also a Member-at-Large for the Elder Law Section of the Oregon State Bar (OSB), and an elected member for the OSB House of Delegates.
As Chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Virtual Assets Work Group, Victoria led the development of a legislative proposal to clarify that a personal representative, trustee, or conservator has the legal authority to access online information (Facebook, Twitter, online banking) when a loved one dies or becomes incapacitated. She is also an appointed observer for the Uniform Law Commission’s study group examining the national issue of access to digital information. As an industry expert on these issues, she has been interviewed by local and national media including the Portland TV network affiliates, Associated Press, Huffington Post and Time.
