Portland, OR., December 2011 – Portland, OR., December 5, 2011 – Samuels Yoelin Kantor LLP announced today that it has hired Benjamin Leedy as an associate in the firm’s real estate group. Mr. Leedy’s practice focuses on the areas of commercial real estate, real estate development and finance, and retail and office leasing.
Prior to joining Samuels Yoelin Kantor LLP, Mr. Leedy was an associate attorney with the Portland office of Holland & Knight LLP. His responsibilities at the firm included representing clients on purchase and sale transactions, as well as real property secured lending transactions, including loan modifications, workouts, and deeds-in-lieu of foreclosure.
An experienced presenter and author, Mr. Leedy has spoken and written about a variety of topics including commercial mortgage loan workouts, employment contracts and legal developments affecting the management of golf courses and private clubs.
Mr. Leedy is active in the local community, and serves as a board member for The First Tee of Greater Portland, a local chapter of a national non-profit organization dedicated to building character in young people through the game of golf.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Leedy earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Portland, where he played intercollegiate soccer and garnered all-conference honors his senior season. He went on to earn the Dean’s Fellowship for Excellence and a Certificate in General Business Law at Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College. He was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2005.
