SYK Seminar Series: Latest Developments In Financial Elder Abuse

March 8, 2016 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am

victoria-blachly-thumb Banks Bio Square Presented by Victoria Blachly and Bob Banks

Losses due to financial elder abuse are estimated to be in the billions of dollars. Regulatory authorities are making changes to address the ever growing crisis. Learn why elder financial abuse is so prevalent today, and what the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and others are doing to combat abuses. What are your responsibilities to your clients to recognize and report potential abuse? What can fiduciaries, victims and their advocates do when elder abuse occurs?

Our speakers are Bob Banks and Victoria Blachly. Bob has represented clients in financial abuse cases for three decades. He is a member of FINRA’s National Arbitration and Mediation Committee, is a board member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association and is regularly included as an Oregon Super Lawyer. Victoria is a fiduciary litigator that represents trustees and elders. Victoria speaks nationally on issues relating to fiduciary litigation, is an Oregon Super Lawyer for fiduciary litigation, and was recently awarded as a Portland Business Journal “Woman of Influence.”
